Experience Wide Open Spaces

The aroma of spring flowers, the clear blue sky, the rainbow of colors in summer - it's the dazzling Illinois prairie that defines Prairie Glen, and there simply is no community like it.

With over sixty acres of open space dedicated to the restoration of the native prairie and wetland communities, owners of Prairie Glen will have an ideal setting to call home.

The native prairie plants will bloom throughout the growing season, attract butterflies, birds, and even re-establish diverse ecosystem habitats for insects, flora and fauna. While traditional lawns use only two to four species of grass, the native landscape design at Prairie Glen includes dozens of species of grasses, wildflowers, trees and shrubs, all blooming at different times during the growing season. Each is unique and constantly evolving to establish a year-round beauty. The "wildflower" landscape and ecological garden will replicate the undulating prairie that once covered the area.

The prairie is easy for everyone to explore at Prairie Glen. Whether by foot, bicycle or cross country ski, all can enjoy the sights, sounds, fragrances and textures of life. Beyond the striking stone wall entrance, the community has been thoughtfully landscaped to embody a vision as well as a view.
